• In charge and responsible for the daily operations of barges and boats to ensure smooth and timely transportation of goods and proper loading and unloading.
• Develop schedules for the flow of barges and boats to provide continuous flow of goods to avoid down time of the plant.
• Organize the storage and distribution of goods. Essentially he needs to ensure that the product is delivered on time and at good cost.
• Overlook the transportation, stock control, warehousing and the flow of goods.
• Analyses logistics and operational problems and produce new solutions.
• Lead, motivate, organize and encourage teamwork and professional development within the workforce of the logistics department to ensure that productivity targets are met.
