Accountant

Job Purpose:

To support the accounting and operational functions of the department by maintaining the books of accounts for entities / locations assigned, perform month-end closings, accounting analysis and reconciliation, budgeting and forecasting, audit preparation and involvement in various other financial & operational activities

Duties:

- Create accurate financial reports as pre-set guidelines

- Process all authorized journals to divisions as per set parameters

- Ensure and process all month end accrual entries, month end journals

- Process all commission, overtime, staff loans

- Send out all relevant reports supplying information to departments and top management meeting set deadlines.

- Ensure that all general ledger accounts fall within the divisions balances to the relevant sub system reports

- Process all invoices and credit notes onto Accounts Receivable / payable

- Reconcile and analyze movements in all asset categories

- Liaise with key stakeholders on any queries and to ensure these are resolved

- Assist in the annual preparation of budgets and with forecasts

- Clearly communicate with operations, especially on query resolution

- Reconciliation of all accounts before close of General Ledger at month end

- Carry out any other reasonable instruction given by those in authority

- Ensure strict adherence to all policies and procedures within area of responsibility
